Our head office is located in Chachapoyas, in the mysterious Department of Amazonas. Chachapoyas Tours is the original provider to our zone since 1988, even before there was access by a dependable vehicle road. We are the only provider with a mission to provide a sustainable tourist income to empower our village tourist committees to defend their ecological and archaeological sites.  For 19 years 100% of our donations and tourist income stayed in our zone to benefit its people and upgrade our zone.  Contrast this with the Cuzco zone where 85% of its income goes out through Lima.  We have the only lodges in the archaeological zone located in the cloud forest on tribal land.   These offer the best opportunity to provide contact with the communities and ecology and assures a well planned and an unforgettable experience.  The world’s most exotic and endangered hummingbird lives near our lodges (check Spatula Tail link)

Chachapoyas Tours is member of The International Eco-tourism Society (TIES), Sustainable Travel International (STI), Asociation of Tourism Operators of Amazonas (ADOTUR AMAZONAS) and the South American Explorer Club.  We are recommended in all major travel books as Footprint, Peru Handbook, Moon Guide, Lonely Planet and others. All of a sudden our zone was open and recognized as “The Machu Picchu of Northern Peru” and one of Americas top 3 archaeological zones. A majority of regular size agencies of Peru DO USE our provider services. This is because they want to offer the best quality while building up and protecting our zone at the same time benefiting and gaining support of the villages.

Alicia Tourist Administrator with studies in Anthropology,  most recommended by the Dean of Peru’s best University of San Marcos.  Bilingual official guide, co-ordinates our donations with the village tourist committees.

Sady Sady, raised in Chachapoyas.  Bilingual official guide, is studying tourism and knows the people and sites of her Dept. of Amazonas.  Sady is versatile in running both our office and tours as needed.
Celina Celina is from Choctamal, cooks and does the logistics for our expeditions, a great team player with studies in nursing.  Celina knows most words of the Quechua language and is learning English.
Norma Norma is from Choctamal and she runs the Choctamal Marvelous Spatuletail Lodge,  Norma is a great worker,  very efficient, responsible and always does her best
Zoila Zoila is from Levanto and does an excellent job in the lodge.  Zoila was chosen to manage the Levanto Lodge because of her willingness to help others and always active in community affairs and projects.
Charles Built comfortable co-op lodges (Choctamal and Levanto lodges) in the villages.  Tourist income from these lodges benefits the local people and is used to protect and restore the ruins and ancient roads of this incredible zone.  These are the ONLY lodges strategically located to access the best ruins
